  • Sharjah Art Foundation Sharjah United Arab Emirates

Since its inception in 1993, theSharjah Biennial has quietly mushroomed into a key art festival for the Arab world. It has built its reputation using a carefully primed assemblage of localized content embodying the prevailing zeitgeist. For its 2013 session, Sharjah Biennial 11—or SB11, if you will—has events which include performances, films, lectures, and the annual symposium March Meeting that will contextualize the SB11 concept: “Re:emerge—Towards a New Cultural Cartography” curated by Yuko Hasegawa.
